dans-gdal-scripts software package provides GDAL contributed tools by Geographic Information Network of Alaska, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install dans-gdal-scripts
dans-gdal-scripts is installed in your system.
Make ensure the dans-gdal-scripts package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep dans-gdal-scripts *
You will get with dans-gdal-scripts package name, version, architecture and description in a table
